Public space can be used in different ways: fought over, appropriated, neglected, inhabited. Its physical elements form a continuous backdrop to our lives. They become invisible, silently integrated in to the public space of our private lives. We mentally record the material elements of the street, consciously and unconsciously. They frame our everyday existence, reflecting back our lives. This film reflects on these interests through a visual investigation of the public realm of Santander, and was exhibited alongside an installation of found photographs and other images of the city. This film was made as part of an international workshop run by Cuban artist Carlos Garaicoa at the Fundación Botín.
