Retail consultancy and design / pop-ups

Summary

For the Green Beards temporary fit-out we used untreated marine plywood walls, set at an angle, to separate the front part of this long retail unit. Utilising only some of the space, and maximising the unit’s corner position and glazing to street and side laneway, we highlighted product merchandise, and used materials in an economic way, whilst tying in with the ethos of the brand.

The Bretzel Bakery, Portobello is a mixed-use project containing a bakery, café and residential units. The brief included the expansion of the existing retail and café space, and the refurbishment of the apartments, on a complex and historic site. We worked through survey and sketch designs with the client; engaged in both pre-planning and planning with the local authority; and integrated Fire Certificate and Disability Access Certificates, in collaboration with external consultants.

For Furlong & Keogh’s pop-up ice cream parlour in Dublin’s Liberties, we collaborated with the clients on health and safety and HSE liaison; engaged in planning consultation with the local authority; and undertook workflow and layout designs for the interior.

For the Rockababy Boutique in Celbridge we collaborated with the client on internal layouts and strategy, interior design, fittings, fabricators and suppliers.

Client comments

‘We approached Stephen to work on our Pop-up having been very happy with the work he had done for our original shops construction. The brief had an extremely tight turn around and due to its nature had a limited budget. Stephen was able to turn the project around in under a month from design to completed construction, we we’re delighted with the outcome and Stephen’s finished design managed to be exactly in keeping with our desired aesthetic despite the unique challenges a pop-up presents.’ Green Beards Juicery.

‘‘Stephen and his colleagues took the time to really understand our vision. Constrained by a limited budget and tight deadlines, they came up with creative solutions to some very difficult problems that we encountered, resulting in a unique and smart design that we were very happy with. We would highly recommend him.’ Furlong & Keogh.

‘‘Working with Stephen was a complete joy. Hearing his many ideas and solutions made the renovation of my retail space an absolute dream to work on. The way he communicates with others on the job puts everyone at ease and working on the same page, which certainly took the pressure off making the project run smoothly. I am delighted with the finished design and look forward to working with him again in the future.’ Rockababy Boutique & Coffee Bar.

For Cloud Nine we worked on the contractor end to produce fit-out layouts for the bar and food venue, realising Verve’s three-dimensional layouts for client Diageo.
