Re-roof
This house had a relatively recently-built extension to the rear, covered by a pitch roof with multiple rooflights.
We extended the footprint of the extension into the existing courtyard (between the main house and the extension), and created an open, structure-free space in the main space.
We re-roofed the extension, and increased the floor-to-ceiling height, with exposed Douglas Fir roof joists overhead. Long rooflights cross the exposed joists, bringing light into the plan, both along the kitchen counter and at the dining area.
Structural supports (to the existing first floor) were removed or concealed, to create a more spacious room.
Upstairs the layout of the bedrooms and bathroom was also changed to suit the young owners.
Client comments:
Stephen was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with both the process and the outcome. We could never have imagined how the space could be transformed into what is now our beautiful home, and that is all down to Stephen’s ideas and expertise, whilst taking our needs and input on board at all times. We highly recommend Stephen!
