Architecture and the Moving Image

Following an open call for a curator to oversee the Institute’s Culture Night programme, we selected a theme and curated over 30 film and videos, all related to architecture and the built environment. These were screened inside and outside the RIAI’s headquarters at Merrion Square. The films, videos, animations, documentaries, short experimental works and photography included archival newsreel and documentary footage relating to the construction of Dublin (projected on the ground floor windows of the Georgian building); a trailer and excerpts of the feature film ‘Kevin Roche: The Quiet Architect’; and work from leading Irish and international architects, documentary makes and artists.
