Remodelling of a Modern Townhouse
An existing three storey townhouse on a narrow plot was completely remodelled, including an extension that opened up the ground floor to the rear garden. The roof of the extension rises from the back of the house, bringing light deep in to the plan through the full-height glazing and concertina doors. Internally, particular moments – full-height glazing over a stairway, a ‘carved-out’ study space and under-stairs shelving – are integrated across the three storeys to create a series of contrasting spaces. The design is supplemented with the client’s eclectic collection of furniture and dynamic use of colour.
Client comments
“Great design that suits the practical needs and lifestyle of the owner; well designed, functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces and rooms. Good guidance, advice and collaboration. The design elements are praised by all who visit and stay in the house. The house design really suits the way I live.”
